Libra New Moon Blessings

Welcome to the New Moon in Libra
Wednesday, October 6, 7:05 EST, 13°24'
settling dew moon, moon of swirling leaves
hand in hand moon, moon of mystic mists
migration moon, weighing harvests moon
hearts-a-bustin' moon, moon of body and levity
Yesterday's New Moon in Libra brought the reminder of tending to Self in the balance of relationship with other. While we begin sensing into this Libra energy this Moon cycle, this energy of Venus, of Air, of Cardinal mode, the beginning, initiating action reaching outward toward other, the scales inform our explorations.
The scales historically have been used in society as a transactional measure of value. The weight of an item determines its cost. That apple is an item for sale and to carry it away in your hand requires a price to be paid to the seller. Such is the system of commerce that is meant to be but one part of our social structure. Over time though, we have adopted, unconsciously patterned our behaviors around a capitalist model of interactions. So that we are limited to seeing and experiencing each other in an exchange of goods and services in much of our daily lives.
The scales reemerge at this time of social reevaluation (yes, we sit currently among several planets in retrograde and a looming Pluto return for the founding of the United States of America, the colonization of the peoples and these, their lands of North America) with a renewed offering. The value in an exchange is measured by these reenvisioned scales in collaboration, in what we each bring to relational harmony. Underlying all transactions is this premise that has been forgotten, erased over generations. The scales help us remember.
What if we revision the scales as relational? As we move towards other, towards the beauty in an other, how we relate to other, how we relate to each other is how we become a society. Every interaction creates our shared experience, our shared world. What happens when we lift our feet from the economy model foundation of society and let our legs dangle from the perch of a communal vista?
What if we feel ourselves as children in interplay with other on a seesaw, exploring weight and mass and gravity and levity in relationship to each other? Allowing a new orientation to ourselves as well, in exchange and response to how we each inform and respond to the playful and curious experience of rising and falling connected across a fulcrum. We dynamically create the momentum of interaction, our social connections are immediately dependent on each of our actions. We are not weighed against each other, but with each other.
Up, down, up, down through the air, suspended from our seat at each of the ends of the lever. Maybe we play with moving towards each other in finding a balance, nearer to or farther from the fulcrum to find equilibrium. We can manipulate physical forces upon the seesaw scales. We find that we are co-creators with our own inherent, individual properties of matter and energy that influences other, whether that be beings or being.
What if we begin to experience the scales as a web stretched, suspended in the air? All the same principles apply, but are interconnected in a whole new way. The balance points are shifted, the fulcrums become interdependent through a tensegrity network of tensions that hold a common, united form. This allows for a greater dynamic with the many other that we encounter, that we share the world with. Together we hold this cooperative, distributive netting.
We know the premise of this intimately in our own bodies, this movement of bones and muscles and tendons and tissues of an organized system. As within, so without. As below, so above. The macro and the micro dimensions of our reality are a fractal of truths. As it happens in me, it happens in the world, and so it happens in the cosmos. And the other way around.
Inner being and outer being sit in Libra's scale pans. The balance exists in the creation of the true web we are maintaining by being and being with other beings. How will we move with this knowing from the fulcrum of our hearts?
